What is the Depression and How to cope with it?

Patton, Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.

There are various symptoms of depression Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness, Loss of interest in daily activities, Appetite or weight changes, Sleep changes, Concentration problems, Reckless behavior and Unexplained aches and pains but how do you fight this illness? If you feel that you have this symptoms then you should consult psychology to help you with your problem. The advice of psychology to depressants is to undergo CBT or they are called Cognitive behavioral therapy, Antidepressant medication and ECT or Education and coping strategies. CBT is the best treatment for all because it controls the negative thoughts that lead to loss of interest and feelings of worthlessness, Antidepressant medication is your first step to combat depression, here you can manage the Depression illness and ECT that involves the application of a brief electric current to carefully selected sides on the scalp, although many people are fearful of ECT because there can be some memory related side effect but this technique is arguably the safest.

Depression should be a battle, not just for yourself but for your loved one. You cannot survive this disease if nothing helps you, You have to fight for your loved ones and the people who supporting you and do not be afraid to deal with it, because God believes in your ability as his child.
